Aft 16 days in Sri Lanka, I'm finally back in Singapore~!
Life there is really tough, and I'm proud of myself being able to adapt to it.
We spent our 1st nite @ a budget guest house in Colombo when we reached. The reason being it was 7+pm (Sri Lankan time) and we need 3 hours to reach our destination. Had our 1st dinner in Sri Lanka -- Fried Rice. It was much better than I've expected, 'cept that 1 plate can be shared by 2 gers (we realised we can have 3 gers sharing it aft we started eating) and that the pepper seems cheap there (the cook added lotsa pepper).
2nd day we woke up @ 6am to travel to Balapitiya, a small town (mmm... but it doesn't have it's town area... the nearest town area to Balapitiya is Ambalangoda). The accomodation that was allocated to us was in the premises of a temple. Seems like the house that they allocated to us was a temple. There is nothing in the house 'cept for pillars, some dim lights & a power point. We had to use toilets that were shared by the houses there. The monks offered us their toilet which has a flush system, a shower head & light but it has an ants' nest and has irregular water supply. The rest of the toilets are outdoor (but sheltered), dirty, smelly, not lighted and doesn't have any flush system. Even the shower cubicle is not covered up. 3 of the gers still decided that they shall not shit there until they reach Colombo on day 14. Haha.
The days in between I shall update when I get hold of our team's journal. All in all, it's a good experience. U tend to appreciate all these simple stuffs u can get in Singapore... like ur table lamp, ur fan, even the hot water that u've in ur shower. All these needs that we've are actually wants of ppl somewhere out there in another part of the world.
Shall update soon again! Meanwhile time to chat with frenz online, heh
