Taiwan Day 2

Ok... Now on to Day 2.

The breakfast kinda suck.... I don't know why they can still cam-whore when it sux... Haha

I look quite unhappy with the breakfast.... Haha

Then we were brought to the Yehliu National Park (I think)... where the rocks were shaped by natural forces... And this is the famous Queen's Head (and 5 pretty gals, lol)!

This is really shaped by nature. There were 2 aunties who came to Taiwan like 20 to 30 years ago and they said the Queen's Head looked nicer cos its throat was thicker! And according to the lao ti kor guide, he said experts estimate this head to drop from its neck in another 20 to 30 years.

Find the shoe in the pic below:

U've 30 seconds, go!

There! It's here!

The Taiwanese either have v good experience @ playing spot-the-difference games or they have good imagination. Lydat also can! Haha. But ok lah, this place do really have a nice scenery. And somebody has to spoil the photos.... Grrr....

Why didn't anyone tell me the hum sup guy guide is beside me?! So close somemore! And Amy is smiling so happily. But overall this place is still a nice one. =D

Next we were brought to Chui Fen...

where we can buy nice local products like the jelly and muah chee from Ah Xin De Dian...

And not to mention we ate and ate and ate again...

The big meatballs...

The ladyboss wearing cosplay stuffs selling sotong balls & eel sausage...

And the floury balls in green bean soup... which reminds me of tang yuan...

And of cos, the smelly toufu... Amy & Cai bought one that wasn't v smelly, but in the end only me & Jiali wanted to try more. Haha

Then we were on our way to Hua Lien on the train... where most of em slept except for me.

So wat was I doing? Trying to take nice self-potraits. HAHA

Oh! And I managed to shoot the cute-looking chimney near Hua Lien!

I supposed it's cos Hua Lien is home to the Ah Mei aborigines. And yup! We visited the Ah Mei Cultural Village. There's 1 girl that was really pretty!

And anyway we took the 2nd pic for Charles. Haha

And at night, when we dropped by a fruit stall before reached our hotel & we bought a yellow watermelon & a bunch of expensive lychees.

And we had visitors!

Weicong & her gf Yenli! It was their 5th or 6th day in Taiwan I think, we went clockwise in Taiwan starting from Taipei and they went anti-clockwise, that's y we can meet up. Heh.

Ok, end of Day 2. I'll try v v v hard to speed up. But even if u dun wanna read, *hmph* I'm updating for myself. Wahahahaha

Everything happened for a reason

不明白为何我会在意。。。
之前和之后的分别

很庆幸当时我做了个了断
一个对的了断
不然心
应该会比那时痛吧!
至少我是那么认为

Everything happened for a reason
友人说得不错
发生过的每一件事件
一定是因为某种原因或因素

我会做了那“对的了断”
也是经过了彻底
和许久的考虑
这就是那了断会发生的因素吧

Bug in WLM?

I don't know if this is a bug in WLM or not but...

Try typing "download.php" when u're in a mass chat... U'll get kicked out of the MSN mass chat... like this:

Strangely... it doesn't work for other ".php", it only works for "download.php"... =/

And apparently in private chats... the line with "download.php" won't appear to the person u're chatting with.... Haha

Taiwan Day 1

All the other girls have updated their blog, I cannot lose to em. Lol

We had to reach Changi Airport @ 6am.... and I tried calling Cailing cos she was the only one who didn't reply my check-if-u-have-awaken-SMS. But when she didn't pick up her phone, I tried lookin for her home number on our OG contact list, but to no avail.

Out of a desperate measure, I called SK for her home number. Then I was late for 15min. I was supposed to be the earliest to reach the airport!! Haha. But when Cailing reached the airport, we realised that her phone is kinda spoilt, she didn't receive the calls. -_-. I felt so guilty for waking SK up for nothing. Haha

Anyway after checking in, we ate BK breakfast. Amy insisted on eating 1 whole meal by herself and she became too full to enjoy her food on board. This is me, trying to translate the schedule which was in Chinese to the rest of em. I'm so glad I'm Chinese-speaking sometimes. Wahahaha.

Once again Cai sits beside me on the plane. When we came back from Sri Lanka 2 years ago, she sat beside me when I was puking like nobody's business and she was so scared. HAHA. And when we went Korea, she also sat beside me and I could feel her fear of me puking again. Oh well, shows that SIA pilots are skillfull & my motion sickness pills are working well!

When we reached Taiwan, we we brought to Tamshui for lunch & the lao se tour guide introed us to eat Ah-Gi, which is like a tou fu with tang-hoon in it, with some soup.

And we also ate the fishball soup, which I find quite nice but the girls don't like it. Haha.

Then we are the super long ice-cream which looks creamy but it turns out to be halfway between a sorbet and the Mac's ice cream cone, and it melts quite fast... and I tried to find a rubbbish bin but I couldn't find any! And the weird thing is... even w/o rubbish bin on the streets... there's no rubbish on the floor... (And I was still thinkin if there's rubbish on the floor I'll do the same. Haha)

Then we really ate and ate and ate. Haha. And does this board looks familiar?...

I didn't know it came from Taiwan. Haha. I luv their pudding milk tea~ Nice!

Next we were brought to the Tamshui Fisherman's Wharf that has a lover's bridge....

It is said that if u walk the bridge with ur loved one, then u'll last forever! So....

We walked hand in hand on the bridge! Hahaha. And the wind up there is super strong... So 2 crazy women started spoofing a well known scene...

The scenery is beautiful! How I wished we went there @ night instead...

Then we were brought to Shilin Night Market for dinner....

And here's the legendary Big Deep Fried Chicken Cutlet store...

But they don't cut the cutlet for u. And it has bones! -_-

I don't know whether we spent too little time @ Shilin but didn't really find it very fantastic. But we really ate alot again! Haha.

And my fav food of the day....

The Guan Cai Ban (literally translates to Coffin Board)!! It's actually a thick toaste with fillings in the bread. Super nice and hot and deep fried. Haha

And of cos the nice³ desert~

The ice is like shredded but super fine! Super nice~

And we also drank the Honey Bittergourd drink which has a nice initial taste but the aftertaste is bitter...

Nobody dared to drink further than 1 mouthful so I gulped the remaining cup of juice, and the bitter aftertaste disappeared! Haha. And anyway there was this weird guy...

He stood there and sang for v v long... And his voice was quite terrible... Later on we saw him @ Xi Men Ding on Day 7 also. HAHA.

Ok, end of Day 1, I'll think bout when I'll update Day 2... Haha. For a funnier version, pls visit Joo's blog. =D

25th May is my lucky day

I'm now blogging cos Joo said she's visiting our blogs like 2 to 3 times a day... -_- But I won't be blogging on the Taiwan trip cos I've yet collected all the photos! =/ Stupid yousendit.com has a bandwidth limit. Argh...

Anyway WOOOHOOOO, got my results on Fri & I've graduated with 3rd class honours! And it's so unbelievable! My caps is ON THE DOT! And I got A- for my FYP. Yay~ I've nice sup~

And on Fri, I finished all my chores in NUS~ Submitted my final thesis. Yeah~ And I made 1 copy for myself to keep too. Haha

And my mentor is nice too~ I went to look for him on Fri but he wasn't around so I left some Taiwanese goodies at his door with a note saying sth like hope he'll enjoy the tidbits although he was @ Taiwan too (Weicong coincidently met him @ Tao Yuan airport). And he actually sent me an email!

Hi Meng Yen,

I received your muah chee and jelly ... You are so thoughtful!

I was chairing a PhD final examination yesterday afternoon. Anyway, do drop by if you are in NUS again.

Do you mind re-sending or re-uploading the photos? I did not download while I was in Taiwan.

Yes, I saw Wei Chong at Taoyuan ... Amazing coincidence ... I was in Taipei for a week as a visiting professor and Shi-mu joined me over the weekend for shopping. We spent a lot of money but it was fun :)

Cheers,
KK

Haha. I was laughing when I saw the word "shi-mu".

And the interviews that I've gone for (1 geotech cpy, 1 construction consultancy, 1 offshore MNC) sounded quite optimistic.

On Fri, the construction consultancy called me up for the 2nd interview, with their CEO. O_O So stressed.... And my interview @ the offshore MNC sounded really optmistic cos my interviewer (the manager of the dept) said sth like "I hope to see you soon." Then she added, "I think I'll see you real soon." And also on the same day... an offshore cpy which I've been eyeing on for a damn long time, called me up for interview too~

So... 25th May is my lucky day~

But oh shit... I 4got that Jeremy's bday is on 25th May!! Too excited over my results & the interviews. Oops. Haha. But I don't think he reads my blog, so.... it's ok. I juz sent him a belated bday wish. Lol

S.H.E - Lao Po
S.H.E - 老婆

Yeah~ Juz came back from Taiwan~ The trip was OK lah, not v fantastic, but I didn't really expect much from this trip either. Haha. I shall update when I get hold of photos.

Anyway, This song's music was composed by Ella and the lyrics written by Selina, about SHE's friendship. Kinda sweet. So this song goes out to my gal frens!

I know Amy don't like SHE, but don't care, I like em enough! Wahahaha.

He even sent me a super sweet email the day aft CE night!!

Hi Meng Yen,

I am making the round to drop some of you a personal note of well wishes.

I don't have a chance to talk to you last night - the crowd was too big.

I hope you will leave NUS with some fond memories. I am certainly happy to play a minor role in your NUS experience.

I wish you happiness and smooth sailing in the next leg of your life journey.

My very best wishes,
KK

Ahhhh. So super nice. And my sup... took a photo with him on poster day but it's in Peiqi's camera... He's super nice too! I asked him if I need to have ammendments to my thesis and he replied:

Dear Meng Yen,

No need to amend your thesis. It is fine as is.

Enjoy your travel. You have deserved it!

Vladan Babovic

Wahahaha. I'm so lucky to have nice profs~

I think I'll buy some stuffs from Taiwan to give to em~ =D

Weird talents

Thanx to Gord who always find super duper weird Youtube vids... He found this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0bKq3x74UE

which reminds me of my weird talent: whistling with my teeth

MayB I shld take a vid of myself showing my weird talent then post on Youtube. HAHAHA. And don't ask me how I know how to whistle... I saw my cousin doing it, then I tried for fun. And somehow, I can whistle in tune when time comes. I think it's that particular hole that I have between my front teeth. HAHAHA.

Steph can then do her eye-rolling technique aka the MSN icon if u type 8-). Lol. U think u can do it? Try askin someone to look @ ur eyeballs when u do that. I bet it goes in a path of a shape of a diamond. Heh

  1. Koay Ai Mei
  2. Lim Meng Yen Eva
  3. Lu Siu Yung
  4. Ong Li Sheng

because these 4 persons tried to sing songs that can KO em @ KBox @ Marine Parade.

Haha. Actually such a suicidal act is quite fun! =X

Shelf life of love

I wonder... how long can love last?

Suddenly I remember, "Love only has a shelf life of 1 week", like what Xi Men in Liu Xing Hua Yuan said...

Of cos to me it doesn't end in 1 wk, but it varies for ppl. But I definitely do not believe in everlasting love, at least from what I see, there's always a break from the love in between.

That's why sometimes age/timing is v impt. Like let's say u meet the right guy/gal when u're 15 years old. Of cos the 2 of u won't get married, too young already wat... (Unless maybe the gal goes pregnant, oops!)

Then let's say u meet the not-so-right-but-not-so-bad-either guy/gal when u're in ur early 20s, there's still a possibility, until mayB a better one comes by.

BUT... if u've met the same not-so-right-but-not-so-bad-either guy/gal when u're in ur mid or late 20s, there the probablity will be 99%. Like I've said it's the timing/age.

And because I think love itself has an expiry date, this is precisely why people get married. Like when u get married, there's new excitements, so it "prolongs" the expiry date of love.

Then aft u get married and the expiry date is near, the kids comes along to postponed the expiry date again. By then, u would have been already "used to" having the other person by ur side, which adds infinte amt of "preservatives" to love.

And at the end of the day, even though we thought we got the right guy/gal in the past, just that it wasn't the "right time", it doesn't matter, cos they may be the "wrongs" if the relationship got far in time. The impt thing is that we learn from all the past right/wrongs, and not make the same mistake again.

And even though I feel that there's no everlasting love (ok, there can be exceptions lah, maybe 1 in a 100 couples? *shrugs*), we still need to have ppl who spends the rest of our lives with, don't u think so?

虽然曾经爱过
当爱变成了一种伤心的习惯
可能就该放手

但若曾经爱过
而爱变成了一种快乐的习惯
也不见得不好

所以
快乐最重要
=)

Anyway this is like a random ranting. I don't even know what I'm talkin bout. HAHA
