Happy 23rd bday Charles & Yushun!!
Happy 23rd bday to Charles & Yushun!! Too bad they dunno each other, cos I think it's really cool to noe that there's some1 with the same bday as u.
Anyway, it's the start of week 12, which is bad for me 'cos
Finished lessons on Wed @ 12, had my lunch @ Grinning Gecko (alone, cos the rest went home or didn't even come sch... sobz...). Had the worst pasta in my life... I think Engin Canteen's pasta is better, for once... Aft that was wondering if I shld go Chinatown to buy CDs & I saw 33, which makes it juz nice for me... In the end I bought Ocean's CD with 2 tix to his 1st concert. So excited!! Heh.
Aft that I suddenly remembered that I need to go CityLink Mall to collect my TCC voucher & went down to the mall. On my way, Synovate called me down to their office to do a survey on camera mobile phones. Since Burlington Square was quite near to CityLink Mall, I decided to go down to their office aft collecting my voucher. Synovate then gave me a $20 NTUC voucher for doing the survey.
I recalled Lisheng saying sth bout 4getting to buy sth aft our trip to Sim Lim last week. So I called him to ask wat it is and helped him bought his LAN cable. Aft that walked ard to ask on Nokia 6670 & 7610 prices cos my maid is helping her cousin (in Indonesia) to buy a hp. In the end I got 6670 @ $490!! So ppl, if u need to get a phone w/o contract, try Sim Lim 1st floor, u can get quite good deals!
Anyway, that's how I spent 6 hours on my short sch day... as for Thurs, I skipped sch cos I was having headache... and I kinda slacked the whole day...
I really muz start mugging... MUGGING!!! Same goes to my sis whose Os are coming this Monday...

My sis downloaded this song and I kupo from her =P. It's the ending song of a Taiwanese show that juz started 5 weeks ago & it's only until the 5th episode now. My sis & I have been downloading the file from Taiwan sites to watch this show, haha.
Btw, the show's called 《恶作剧之吻》. If u find the name of the show familiar, bravo! U've good memory! Cos ard 7 or 8 years ago, there's a Jap show with the same name, acted by 柏原崇. These 2 shows are adapted from the same Jap manga, though the storyline is quite different. I think if u've SCV, u'll be able to watch this show on CTV (I dunno wat channel is that though, haha), on Sundays, 10pm.
So why did I choose this song? Cos I think the singer sound quite sweet, haha. And also cos the 1st verse kinda reflects on wat happened to me, heh.

The Visually Disabled Couple
I was thinking this will sound better than "The Blind Couple" ("blind" sounds like they chose the wrong partner of sth...).
Yah anyway, I think some of u noe that there's this blind couple staying in my area. I dunno y I saw em for quite a few times already and for the past 1+ years, I've helped em ard 3 or 4 times up the buses that they wanna take. (Sometimes, other ppl took the initiative to help em b4 me, heh)
I 1st saw em ard 1 year ago, though I've stayed in this house for nearly 9 years. I presume they've stayed in this area for quite long since they look quite old (ard 50 to 60) & this area is quite popular among the elderlies. Anyway, back to the story. I saw em walking across the road, towards the bus stop opp my house, when I was waiting for 154 to go Clementi to meet Lisheng. The old lady was holding the left arm of her husband. The moment they reached the bus stop, they asked for help. I went up to em since I was the nearest. They were waitin for a bus to go to Aljunied MRT and so I waited for the bus with em. My 154 reached b4 their bus and I was late already. So I SMSed LS telling him I'll be late cos "I'm helping a blind couple". Later on when I met LS, he told me that his camp mates said I was probably lying to him cos usually only 1 person (of a couple) will be disabled.
Well, I think it's cos both of em are blind, kinda makes em bond together isn't it? I mean look @ the old couples ard u, any of em are still this loving? I always find it so sweet whenever I see em. They are quite friendly too! Chatted with em the last time I accompanied em to wait for their bus.
Anyway, I always wanted to blog about this couple, but I always 4get. I saw a little ger leading the old lady today when I was walking home from the bus stop. Makes me wonder where the old man is, I hope he's ok.
Sometimes, we shld really look on the nicer side of things that we see =)

Drama of the nite
Was doing my Geotech lab when I heard screams. I tot the screams came from the ITE opp (see map below, haha) my place when I heard my mother saying sth in the kitchen. So I went over the kitchen to take a look.
Turns out that on the 12th floor of Blk 55, on the circled corner of the picture (I stay on 15th floor of Blk 56) there was this old man locking the door, another man pulling a woman who was screaming. Few moments later I saw a guy on the 11th floor of Blk 55 walked back into his living room from the window, took the phone, came back to the window again, think he called the police. Meanwhile the lady was still screaming and she was holding onto the railings in front of her house while the man was still pulling her.
1 min later, the neighbour came out from the house to see wat is happening and stopped the man from pulling the woman. The woman continued screaming in Mandarin, begging ppl to call for the police and saying sth like her husband told her he's gonna throw her down the building. More neighbours came ard and the woman was screaming sth like askin the neighbour beside her not to touch her.
5 min later, fire engines arrived, followed by the police and ambulance. Even when the firemen came, the woman was still screaming, saying she wants the police. My mother was so Kpo that she went downstairs to count how many fire engines were summoned. In the end the woman was escorted by 3 policewomen while the remaining policeman asked the husband what happened.
End of drama. But later on my mother came back and she told us she saw our neighbour downstairs who noes the old-man-locking-door. My neighbour told her that the husband suspect the woman of being under black magic and wanted to bring her to see a medium, where all the drama starts...
10 policewomen/men, 6 fire fighters, 3 fire engines... these are the ones that I saw & noe of (the fire engines were wat my mother told me). I wonder if those who helped by calling 999 or 995 were fined since it wasn't a v serious case. But well, I think some ppl tot that the woman was trying to commit suicide.
Conclusions of the drama: Singaporeans are not that selfish afterall, by lookin @ the number of neighbours who tried to help & by the number of police/fire engines/ambulances summoned (which means more than 1 person called lah...). Another conclusion is, I probably got the Kpo genes from my mother.

Wat's with the pandas?
I'm sure many of u have seen @ least one of these in NUS nowadays...

It's a Herbie beetle!! (Car plate Gaussian blurred) It was parked @ the SDE cark park, managed to take this photo... Thanx to this bus uncle below:
Ok lah, he's no bus uncle, he's Weicong, haha. He drove his father's mini bus to school today again. Haha. We had tutorial @ Science & aft lunch he drove to Engin via the SDE car park and we saw the Herbie beetle!! I was so excited and I was like shouting, "Eee!! Herbie!!" Then WC asked me if I wanna take photo of it and he stopped @ the place for a while. Haha. Thanx ah!
Later on we saw a pink beetle but I tot it's a Mini... But I really dunno how to differentiate the 2 lah... aiyoh...
Anyway the weather outside now...
Picture taken when I was on the bus, with the rain drops on the window... Nice weather to sleep, budden I've 2 reports due soon... So... bo bian...
Last thing, my sis is thinkin of wat JC's sci stream she can go to with 13 points aft bonus points, feel free to advertise ur JC here! Haha

Wat will my life be w/o em?
Heh, I'm not toking bout the frenz ard me, I'm tokin bout the gadgets and softwares I've to help me =D
My printer
Sooo many notes to print, of cos muz have printer, if not it'll be v inconvenient & printing in sch is super expensive. And of cos I luv my Canon iP3000! It has...
My handphone
I can't believe how I survived 17 years w/o a handphone. Haha. But I supposed Singaporeans nowadays are too reliant on handphones, which explains why ppl start to be late for meetings.
I luv my Samsung E720C 'cos it has...
My laptop
With all the reports, assignments blah blah blah, of cos u need a workstation. But I think my laptop has become a PC instead cos I use a keyboard and mouse most of the times. Haha. I've no complains bout my Compaq Evo N620C cos it's quite a sturdy laptop.
@ 1st when I bought the laptop, I tot no one will have identical laptop cos nearly every1 has been buying Toshiba laptops during my batch. But well... I know of another 3 guys who are using it: Andrew, Jianqiang & Xianzhi. And if I nv rmb wrongly, I think Minghan uses this laptop also... Peirong nearly bought it (she already paid the deposit) but she withdrew her order cos she felt that she dun need a laptop afterall. Anyway, I'm the only ger whom I noe of uses this laptop, any gers out there using the same laptop? =D
I chose this laptop instead of a lightweight one cos the specs are better. I prefer a better performance laptop as I need to use it for @ least the 4 years of my uni life. I didn't buy Toshiba cos it's more expensive and somehow I dun like the brand name. Haha. But I think I made a wise choice cos quite a lot of my fren complained bout their Toshiba laptops... =P

How can any1 not own this software?! It's my default printer!

My printer

- Auto-duplex function (prints double sides w/o needing ppl to flip the pages): Suitable for lazy ppl like me, heh. Actually it's time-saving for me also, cos my printer is like 5m away from me and is not in my line of sight, I can juz let it print w/o having to keep a lookout on whether the odd pages are printed b4 I can send the even pages to the printer.
- 4 individual ink tanks: Suitable for ppl who like their notes colourful cos the coloured ink tanks are approximately of the same price as the black ink tank
- Fast print speed of 22ppm for monochrome & 15ppm for colour
- Has 2 trays to put paper: Very useful when I wanna use change b/w 7g and 8g paper

- Mp3 ringtone: I don't need to search online for polyphonic ringtones anymore!! I can even use songs that I like but are not-so-popular. But the con of the MP3 playing function is, u won't be able to use any other functions when u're using the MP3 player, kinda dumb...
- Data cable that comes with the package: I can easily backup my sim card, SMSes, ringtones, videos and photos using the data cable with the software that comes with the phone
- Easy-to-use SMS interface: Easy to use, esp for the symbols function, I can type in several symbols w/o having to enter the symbol function again and again. If u wanna type Chinese, u dun need to select the Language of the phone to be Chinese under the Phone Settings, juz need to change it under SMS function. But some hardcore Nokia users might not be able to get used to it cos the space is at #, not 0. But then again, I was a user of 2 Nokia phones b4 and I could get use to my Samsung X430. Haha. (But Samsung X430's SMS interface sux...)

Fineprint software
How can any1 not own this software?! It's my default printer!
With Fineprint software, u can:
- Print several pages (u can choose 1, 2, 4 or 8) on 1 page
- Combine several print jobs into 1
- Remove margins of the pages when u're printing (so that the words/pix are bigger)
- Print odd and even pages easily by juz sending 1 print job to Fineprint, instead of "Print odd pages only" followed by "Print even pages only". If u're printing (let's say) 4 pages on 1 page of printout, u dun have to type in "1-4,9-12... etc etc" under "Print slides:"
- Remove graphics from ur printout
- Remove unwanted pages
- Preview wat u'll be printing out
- Insert header and footer on printouts
- Choose whether u wanna separate different print jobs by using a new side of the paper or new sheet, or even not separating the print jobs
And here are the remaining softwares that I find useful to me (I excluded MS Office cos it's quite essential and every1 noes bout it =P):
- MSN Shell: Enables me to open more than 1 MSN Messenger
- MSN Plus: Enables me to have Away messages (though quite lotsa ppl find it irritating, haha)
- Macromedia Fireworks: Very-easy-to use picture-editting software
- MusicMatch Jukebox: Has a v good programming for encoding audio tracks into MP3s, u can have a automatic settings on whether u want each album to be burnt into 1 folder and how to name the mp3. For eg... C:/MP3s/Artiste's Name/Album Name/Artiste's Name - Track Number - Track name.mp3
- AI RoboForm: Fill in forms on Internet Explorer for me. Though IE already has the Remember Password Function, u can't manage ur passwords (i.e: u can't see wat usernames & passwords u've saved for which url). Firefox does have a password manager though
- GetRight: Able to split downloads into 4 parts to accelerate downloads. Also able to resume the downloadings when u're interupted
- Norton Internet Security: Has a firewall, pop-up blocker, anti-spam software, anti-virus software and intrusion detector. Though it's good, not v recommended cos it's quite hard to configure, =P

And I'm still laughin over the photo even though I'm seen it for so many times. That's one of the reasons y I put it as my MSN pic cos if I see it more frequently, I won't laugh (@ least I hope so).
Anyway recently a fren of mine had some problems and was quite worried for her. Though the situation got better, it isn't exactly solved. All the while I decide not to say anything cos I noe I'll sound harsh and she'll be extremely bothered by the stuffs that I tell her. It's really quite weird cos I've nv met a ger like her who's vulnerable to these particular situations and yet these situations all pop up in front of her. I juz hope things will get better. =) If u think that I'm tokin bout u, juz noe that u're the one who makes the last decision, so dun keep thinkin of wat others will think bout u, think 'bout wat YOU want.
Ok, Steph, I'm not tokin bout u regarding ur handphone, it's not that serious yet for me to worry so much about. And I admit I was quite harsh on u, sorry, =P. But cos I want u to, and I know u'll, think bout wat me & Weicong have said seriously since it's a matter of $. Hope u find ur dream phone soon =D
I think I've slacked too much. I need to do research on my Engin Prof stuffs liao!!! Arrgghhh. Good luck to ppl with projects & lab reports to hand in!!

I finally finished watching the show! It's a v v v v nice show, starring Song Hye Kyo (宋慧乔) and Rain. Don't ask me who is Rain, I can only tell u that he's super cute when he smiles and that he's v popular in Korea, Taiwan & HK!! But that's aft I watched the show then I realised y he's so popular in these areas, heh. Anyway here's a sweet photo from some website...

Wat is wrong with Blogger?
I dunno whether it's my laptop's problems, or Blogger's problem. Recently, the interface for the "Create post" and "Edit post" function went haywire... Kinda made me quite frustrated cos I wanna post pictures!! Aarrrggghhhh.... So now I've to use the MS Word add-on to update my entries, but w/o pix... sobz... In case Blogger is going to be down permanently, I'm gonna backup all my entries, in case a thing like my previous journal happens again. *&^%$#@!
Anyway, I feel so slack now, cos there's no assignment nor labs nor projects due next wk!! I shan't be slack n go out to study with my sis later.
Btw, any1 wanna go Singapore Hit Awards? Students have 10% discount on the $38 tix. =D I might be going, depending on who's coming for the prize presentation, haha
